Back at School
School in back in session. Today I have missed an interview, had a very successful class and done the interview I missed (while unintentionally missing a class). I'm sure the kids who were supposed to be in the class were fine with me not being there, but it sort of throws my rhythm off and now I am in the middle of two hours of basically nothing. The interview was interesting. It was about "Apparteid in America." I just gave my opinions about racism and told about what I knew about the history of slavery and Black history in America. Very interesting. I probably overwhelmed them a bit. I can talk.
The break was really nice. Right before school was out, I was completely tired of being here. Of course I could totally deal with another week or two off, but there's something nice about being back.
Also right before school let out, I was offered a job at a hogeschool (college). It's one small job, but it's a foot in the door and it looks like they want me for more. If it pans out, I could be leaving here and going there next year, which I could totally deal with. This commute is a killer. I'm meeting with a guy on Thursday to talk about doing classes next period at the college. It's a business school, so the MBA I happen to have will come in handy and might actually be used. That would be nice. Plus, the pay will probably be higher and it would be nice to deal with older students. These high school kids are tiring me out.
Welcome back! You're dreams were your ticket out.
