Coming Out

Like clockwork, when I ran into Juan today, he said, "I stayed up really late last night. It was my girlfriend's birthday."

I smiled and replied, "On a Monday night?" Of course I wanted to say, "Girlfriend?"

So he's out of the running for the GBC. He's so young that he's sort of not very interesting. Strange how that is with some people. Perfectly nice, but a little boring, a little bit "there's not any 'there' there." I was looking at his skin thinking, "Did you just start shaving?"

I think Steve will pull through and turn out gay. But he's the sort of guy who, even if he was straight, doesn't really seem like he'd have a girlfriend. He seems very single. Of course, maybe he's got a wife. These Dutch are the types (many of them) where you can know them for a year or two before they mention that, oh yeah, I have a wife and three kids at home. You just can't tell.
